Shoshana has a Master of Urban Planning and Policy and brings over 15 years of non-profit management and community development experience to her role at NECN. Having worked for the Portland Neighborhood System for three years, her previous experience ranges from environmental work with villagers in Senegal, West Africa, to small business district support in Chicago.
Shoshana works closely with the NECN Board of Directors to provide oversight and management of the organization. Her roles includes programmatic, fiscal and staff management. Shoshana is continually amazed at the power of community engagement and it thrilled to be able to support so many incredible community members in their efforts. In her free time, Shoshana enjoys spending time with her husband and two children and building community around her children’s neighborhood school.
Project Coordinator: Committees
Claire serves as staff liaison to NECN’s four community committees: Land Use and Transportation, Safety and Livability, Community Economic Development and Schools. She supports each committee with policy research, issue monitoring, advocacy and event planning assistance. Claire also works with government agencies and organizational partners to track, educate and engage neighbors in community planning decisions. Outside of NECN, Claire can either be found on the tennis court, or helping people resolve conflicts as a mediator and facilitator for Resolutions Northwest.
Neighborhoods Program Manager
Katy serves as the liaison to all 12 of our Neighborhood Associations, providing them with resources and support to further community-building efforts in inner-North and Northeast Portland. She also manages our neighborhood clean-up program and leads NECN trainings and networking opportunities. In her free time, she serves on the board of the Arbor Lodge Neighborhood Association.
Project Coordinator: Special Projects and Initiatives
Fran coordinates NECN’s Fiscal Sponsorship Program and the Small Grants Program, providing technical support, trainings and financial oversight. She also works on special projects involving community initiatives. Her professional background spans the corporate, academic and non-profit sectors in Portland.
Katie keeps the office moving! Contact her with any questions you may have and she will get you pointed in the right direction. She’s also your person for equipment rentals, scheduling meeting space, or turning in your block party application. Katie is a native Oregonian and loves working in Portland’s unique neighborhood system.
Cameron manages NECN’s communications and outreach, including the website, newsletter, social media, and community calendar. He also supports neighborhoods in developing and implementing their communications and outreach strategies. Cameron is a graduate student in Urban Studies at Portland State, and has a background in community organizing.
